Training with Luke McKenzie last evening....

Last week, I received an email from K.Swiss, I replied to the email and got a place to join an evening run, they have places for around 60 runners.

Luke is currently in Singapore, training for the coming Ironman in China. A warm evening, the run starts at 7pm, it was a short run of 5.3km. The run was divided into 3 groups, the fast, middle and the last group. I just went for the fast group with a new friend.. the pace was pushing, it was too fast for me, I can't keep up with the pace in the last 1km or so. At the end of the run, I talked to a fellow runner and found that they are running at the pace of average 4 mins per km. It was a fun run anyway...

At the end of the run, was a phototaking session with fellow runners and Luke himself, a friendly and positive guy. Last night event was reported in today's newspaper.

I will probably use the given visor. Won 1 of the 3 lucky draw prizes...and got the red bag :P

Australia Cows

The peacefulness and contentment of these gentle creatures, combined with relaxing rural scenery... stopped in the middle of the road to have the picture taken, I had always enjoyed looking at these animals.

Beaches in Western Australia

Today on the 26th Dec, Boxing Day is the 5th anniversary of the Tsunami, lets remember those killed in the Asian Tsunami five years earlier.

The beaches in western Australia, Indian Ocean...



Visited 2 of the beaches, the first is a surfer's beach, the waves are perfect for surfers. Pretty soon it was sunset and the surfer packed up and left, it was getting too cold and windy.

Meetup Beach (Indian Ocean)


Meetup Beach, came across the sign along the roads where we made a turn inside, I can't tell the exact location. Just a few locals at the quiet beach, it is not a tourist attraction anyway, one of the most beautiful and calm beach I had came across in Australia, the water is cool and crystal clear...

Visited a few beaches along the coast, some are mild and peaceful, others are surfer's paradise... Next few posts will be on beaches, the first is the beach at Busselton.

Gumnut Babies by May Gibbs, Perth

These cute statues called the Gumnut Babies are found in the Government Garden of Perth city. Snugglepot & Cuddlepie, created by May Gibbs. Came across them while walking towards the Bell Tower.

Bobtail Skink

What is this?? Came across this lizard near the door of a closed Information Center, while on the way to Pinnacles Desert. Was amazed, had never came across such a lizard before, a shy creature moving around, looking for a place to hide and this lizard was probably a pet...

At the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Interpretive Centre, there was a sample of this lizard and other creatures (owls, snakes), so the name is... Bobtail Skink.



Yes, they are treated as pets too. This species has several other nicknames, namely bobtail, pnecone, stumpytail, sleepy lizard, boggi..

Perth

Day 1 - 5 hours flight, a sunny afternoon with amazing clouds. 4 hrs later on board, there was a heavy storm.. reaching Perth at late evening.



Day 2 - Jondalup Golf Resort house facing the golf course. Stayed for 7 days.


I didn't visit any zoos during this trip, one of the factor was due to expensive tickets, plus didn't really plan for it. Travelled approx. 2,800 km within Western Australia by car. Visited lighthouses, parks, beaches, gardens, caves, desert....

Came across some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia facing the Indian Ocean. Will be posting 3-4 posts on my recent trip within this week ... so stay tune.

hello friends, i will be flying to Perth on the 24th Nov to meet some relatives, holiday & some personal business.

Right now, i am planning on the places to visit, so i am looking forward to capture more pictures on Australia animals. At the meantime, here are a few pictures taken in Healesville Santuary, Melbourne in late Sept that i promised to upload. More pictures coming up in December.... was told that in Perth visitors are allowed to touch a real koala.

Healesville Santuary, Zoo Victoria, Australia

Hi, been busy for the last few weeks, so here are some of the pictures I captured at Healesville Santuary in the 3rd week of September. It was a cold and wet Sept, this koala seated on top of his roof hut... was in deep sleep. Koalas sleep up to 20 hours a day...

The koala turned his head and gave a smile :)




He finally wakes up at around 5pm for the koalas feeding time :)

Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens

Visited the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne on 8 September. Here are some of the pictures taken on that day. It was pretty cold, towards the end of winter in Australia, with spring around the corner..
